It differs from non-medical long-term care — help with daily activities like bathing and dressing — which Medicare does not cover. Medicare covers up to 100 days of SNF care in each benefit period, requiring a medically necessary hospital stay of at least three consecutive days and entry within about 30 days of leaving hospital.
